Lawrence Co. coroner investigating traffic fatality
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A man is dead after a traffic accident today at the intersection of Mill and Division streets.
Lawrence County Coroner Russell Noga is investigating to see whether the 70-year-old man, whose name he did not have available, died as a result of trauma from the accident or as the result of a medical event that happened before it.
The man’s car was broadsided at the intersection by a pickup truck at 8:30 a.m., Noga said. He was pronounced dead at 9:08 a.m. at Jameson Hospital. A woman behind the wheel in the pickup truck also was taken to Jameson. There were no other details available at press time.
Noga said he will know more about why the man died Friday.
