The Powerstown Neighbors (Snoop Block Watch) will meet at 7 p.m. today at Coach’s, formerly Jolly Joe’s, on Sheridan Road. Councilman John R. Swierz, D-7th, will discuss neighborhood issues.

Task force finds guns

Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force found guns and money in an incident at 10 p.m. Monday. Liberty police were contacted by the task force to serve a search warrant in the 4000 block of Logangate Road. In an apartment, the task force seized three AK47-type assault rifles, $2,033 in cash and drug paraphernalia. In a related traffic stop, police confiscated two handguns, a bullet-proof vest and marijuana. A 37-year-old Akron man was questioned; no arrests were made. The task force continues to investigate.

Woman charged

Stephanie R. Sigley, 39, of Niles was charged with two counts of assault after using pepper spray on neighbors in the 100 block of North Lorain about 11:30 p.m. Monday. Sigley told police the neighbors had tried to push and punch her. She will receive a summons from Girard Municipal Court.
