Governor-elect launches inaugural committee

Ohio’s incoming governor has formed an inaugural organization he’s calling the Kasich-Taylor New Day Committee Inc.

Republican Gov.-elect John Kasich has selected Franklin County Republican Party chairman Doug Preisse — a key supporter of Kasich’s bid for the governorship — as the committee’s chairman. Inaugural ceremonies will be Jan. 10.

Kasich beat Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland in last week’s election.

Preisse said the inauguration will reflect “the history, beauty, strengths and potential of Ohio.”
