WEDNESDAY

Boar’s Head Ladies of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church. The menu will include salad, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread and butter, pie and beverage. Cost is $6.50, and containers will be provided for takeout orders. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY

Boardman United Methodist Church, 6809 Market St., will have its annual turkey dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Reservations are not necessary but are recommended. Call the church office at 330-758-4527 for tickets. Carryouts will be available. The cost is $8.50 for adults. $4 for children 6 to 12 and $1 for children under 5.

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. ext., North Lima, will have a drive-through homemade chicken dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out). Dinners include stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. The cost is $6. Drive up to the door and a volunteer will bring the meal to your car. Col. Louis J. Campbell VFW Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals will include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $6.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, will serve a homemade Chinese lunch and supper from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. This week’s menu will feature soy sauce pork loin and Shanghai chicken. The cost of the meal is $5. No reservations are necessary. This will be the last meal of the season until March.

VFW Triangle Post 2799 Auxiliary, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve spaghetti dinners with meatballs, salad, bread and coffee or tea from 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Carryouts are $6.25.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 560, 103 Twelfth St., Campbell, will sponsor a fish and shrimp fry from noon to 6 p.m. The menu will feature fresh ocean perch or shrimp, macaroni and cheese or french fries, coleslaw or haluski, bread and coffee. Meals are $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Dine-in or takeout service will be available. Also available will be desserts and beverages. Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Orders may be picked up from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $9 for adults and $4.50 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $5 a dozen. Orders should be placed from 8 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Friday. Advance sales only. Lunches will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Friday.

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, Poland, will serve turkey dinners with mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, vegetables, salad and pumpkin pie from 4 to 7 p.m. Dine-in or carryout will be available. The cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 7 to 12.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown. will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 after 6 p.m. Thursday or from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $5 per bag of one dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins are welcome. Patrons are asked to use the side entrance.

St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, will bake Italian-style red and white pizza. Phone orders will be accepted at 330-788-0025 between 9 to 11:30 a.m. only. Pickup will be until 12:30 p.m. Price is $6 for regular or Brier Hill pizza and $5 for white pizza.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main Street, New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. There will be no sales Thanksgiving week. Sales resume Dec. 3.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, will sell potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi. The cost is $5 a dozen. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and 8 to 11 Friday, based upon availability. Lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Patrons are asked to provide their own containers and use the side entrance.

SATURDAY

First United Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington St., Lisbon, will be the setting from 4 to 7 p.m. for a dinner to benefit the Halsteads. Meals feature creamed chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, cheesecake and beverage. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for those 10 and under. There will also be a silent auction.

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will serve chicken-pie dinners from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Meals will include potatoes, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. Those 5 and under eat free. There will be a bake sale and auction from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 421 Covington St., Youngstown, will be the setting for a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to help defray the medical expenses of Desi Jurich. Serving will be from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for children. St. Rose Boy Scout Troop 40 will have a turkey dinner from noon to 3:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 22 Market St., Girard. Tickets at the door are $8 for adults and $4 for children 4 to 11. Those under 4 eat free. Takeouts will be available.

St. Stephen School will serve spaghetti dinners from noon to 4 p.m. in the school gymnasium, 129 W. Park Ave., in downtown Niles. Meals include homemade sauce, two meatballs, salad, bread, dessert, coffee and water. Pop will be available. The cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. There will also be a 50-50 raffle, basket raffle and a bake sale.,

TUESDAY

W.E.L.C.A. Women’s Group of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 388 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown, is selling one-pound bags of cashews and deluxe mixed nuts for $8 a bag. The sale will begin after the 11 a.m. service on Sunday and will continue each Sunday through Dec. 19 at the church or at Breezy Acres Country Shoppe, 9191 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road, Poland.
