Fog may be factor in fatal Warren wreck

WARREN

Matthew S. Reese, 24, of Wildwood Avenue Northeast was found dead Wednesday morning after his vehicle crashed into some trees along Palmyra Road Southeast.

Warren police believe the crash may have occurred as early as midnight to 3 a.m. Wednesday based on the fact that the engine was already cool when they arrived.

Police observed that conditions were foggy throughout the night and morning hours, which may have contributed to the accident.

Reese was driving west on Palmyra Road near the city limits when his vehicle went off the right side of the road on a curve, over corrected toward the left, crossing over the center line, then left the road again on the right.

The vehicle hit a ditch and trees and overturned, police said.

The vehicle was found in some trees at about 7:10 a.m.

Police estimate Reese was driving about 45 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per hour zone. He was wearing a seat belt.
