Ohio Ethics Commission director to retire


COLUMBUS — David E. Freel has announced his retirement at the end of this year as the executive director of the Ohio Ethics Commission after serving the public for 17 years in that role.

Freel became the executive director of the Ethics Commission in 1994. He supervises a staff of 21 and oversees the day-to-day statewide duties of the commission.

Due to his duties, he has also served as a special prosecutor and expert witness in state and federal public corruption cases.
