Idora neighborhood cleanup set for Saturday

The Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corp. is seeking volunteers to help clean up a portion of the Idora Neighborhood in the city from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Volunteers will board up a vacant home at 901 Sherwood Ave. as well as plant flowers and clean up Parkview and Sherwood avenues. Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the former Mr. Paul’s Bakery on the corner of Glenwood and Parkview avenues. For those who come later, volunteers will be on Parkview and Sherwood till 1 p.m.

Today, the city’s community development agency unveiled new street signs in the Idora Neighborhood. Every street sign there is being replaced with new ones that read “Idora” along with the street name.
