Phantoms fall to Sioux City as losing skid stretches to 8

The Youngstown Phantoms gave up four second-period goals as they lost to the Sioux City Musketeers 5-2 in a USHL hockey game Sunday night.

Andrew Sinelli scored his first goal as a Phantom in the losing effort.

Quinn Smith recorded his fifth point in four games with an assist on the second goal for Youngstown (4-8-1, 9 points), which has lost eight straight games.

Ryan Belonger also scored for the Phantoms, getting the assist from Smith at the 3:23 mark of the third period to bring Youngstown within two.

Maxim Gaudreault, Ryan Carpenter, Nick Gordon, Brandon Lubin and Tommy Olczyk scored for the Musketeers (8-4-0, 16 points), while Matt Paape and Austin Mattson each had assists.

The Phantoms went 0-8 on the power play but they outshot the Musketeers 26-20.
