Mr., Mrs. Costas celebrate 50th anniversary

CANFIELD

Mr. and Mrs. William Costas of Canfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 16 during a party hosted by their sons for family and intimate friends at Youngstown Country Club.

Their family includes William Stephen Costas of Westlake Village, Calif.; Michael and Mary Noel Costas of Fairview Park, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Emily, Nicholas and Hailey Costas of Westlake Village, and Jack and Julia Costas of Fairview Park.

The former Julie Modarelli became the bride of Mr. Costas on Oct. 16, 1960, during a ceremony at St. John Greek Orthodox Church in Youngstown.

Mr. Costas served with the Air Force Reserve and retired in 2000 as territory manager with ITT Industries/Goulds Pumps.

Mrs. Costas is the marketing director for American Express VTI in Boardman and serves on the boards of numerous charitable organizations, including Angels of Easter Seals, Easter Seals Board, Rich Center for Autism at Youngstown State University, Akron Children’s Hospital/Mahoning Valley Kids Crew, Citizens Committee for the Library Levy of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides Walk.

Mr. and Mrs. Costas will continue their anniversary celebration in the upcoming months during trips to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, the Bahamas and Palm Beach, Fla.
