Heslops feted on anniversary by family, friends

The Victorian Room in Niles was the setting Nov. 6 for a party honoring Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Heslop of Girard for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Invitations were extended by their children and their spouses, Debbie and Jerry Heavener of Austintown, Jeffrey and Tammy Heslop of Liberty, Chris and Lisa Heslop of Mineral Ridge, and Melissa and Robert Arquilla of Girard. There are nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren in the family.

The former Carol Neeley and Mr. Heslop were united in marriage on Nov. 5, 1960, at the Church of God of Prophesy in Clintonville, Pa.

Mrs. Heslop retired in 2004 from Scenna’s Restaurant in Girard, where she was a cook.

Mr. Heslop was employed in nonskilled maintenance by General Motors in Lordstown before retiring in 1996.
