St. James Meeting House in Boardman Township Park was the setting at 4 p.m. Aug. 5 as marriage vows were exchanged by Lynne L. Platten and James R. Thomas.

The bride is a daughter of Frances Pinkerton of Alliance and the late Richard Pinkerton. Mr. Thomas is a son of Robert and Norma Thomas of Youngstown.

The Rev. Jeffrey Mincher officiated, and a reception took place at The Fifth Season in Austintown.

After a honeymoon trip to Emerald Isle, N.C., the couple are living in Salem.

The bride’s daughter, Lauren Platten, was maid of honor, and the duties of best man were performed by the groom’s brother, USMC Staff Sgt. David Thomas.

Mrs. Thomas is employed as manager of Potters Creek Apartments in Alliance.

Her husband works as a cook at Antone’s Restaurant in Liberty.
