Oct. 14

Drug abuse: Police arrested Brendan Michael Witt, 24, Erie, Pa. on charges of drug abuse of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia at Fairground Boulevard and Holly Street.

Oct. 15

Telecommunications harassment: The female manager of the Canfield Laundromat, 15 Scott St. reported receiving inappropriate text messages from a male customer.

Oct. 17

Drug paraphernalia: Police arrested Ronald Gray, Jr., 2675 Pritchard Ole Town Road, Warren on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia at Curtis Ave. and S. Canfield-NIles Road.

Oct. 18

Drug abuse: Police charged Jermain Richardson, 21, of 218 Hamrock Drive, Campbell, with drug abuse of marijuana after his arrest at U.S. Route 224 and Lube Plus.

Oct. 21

Theft: Police arrested Lavertta Cooks, 39, of 4579 Kirk Road, Austintown, at Giant Eagle, 525 E. Main St., who police said was caught taking soda, toilet paper and meat.

Oct. 22

Theft: About $200 was reported missing from a vehicle parked on East Main Street.

Oct. 24

Theft: Police charged Christopher Lee Poe, 28, of 7815 Akron-Canfield Road, and Crystal Husarick, 18, same address, with theft and complicity to theft for stealing two boxes of cough medicine at Giant Eagle.

Oct. 25

Theft: Police arrested Linda Messing, 49, of 320 Russo St., for theft from St. Michael Church, 300 N. Broad St. She had been fired as an employee June 30 as the facilities coordinator for the St. Michael Parish Life Center. She was charged with one count of theft. She admitted to personal use of food that had been ordered for and paid for by the church.

Oct. 30

Theft: Jewelry was reported stolen at a home in the 40 block of Oak Tree Drive.

Drug abuse: Police charged David Smith, 28, of 170 Grimm Heights, Struthers with possession of a small bag of suspected marijuana after his arrest at Deer Trail Avenue.

Warrant: Police arrested Breck Beeman, 36, of 6184 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, on a warrant for felony larceny at Kirk Street.
