Children’s Summer Reading Club: begins with registration beginning Tuesday, for children through sixth grade. Sign up for reading fun, including prizes, surprises, great programs, and a special visit from Cyd Moore, author/illustrator of more than 40 books. Summer fun includes reading incentives. Children will receive a choice of coupon for the first two and four hours they read. After the first eight hours, they will receive a light-up ball. For every four hours read, children will be eligible for a prize drawing.

Adult Summer Beach Reading: June 5-11, bring in your new or “gently read” paperback books to the library. Receive a ticket for each book. Return to the library between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. June 12 and exchange your tickets for new-to-you books. Each returned ticket will be entered into a prize drawing.

Summer Reading programs: Begin June 8. Enjoy Water Babies for infants and toddlers, Wednesday activities for children, Friday programs and games for teens, and contests and programs for adults. There also will be read-at-home programs for all ages from infants through adults. Pick up a schedule of programs at the library.

Knit ‘n’ Stitch: Knitters and those wanting to learn, 4 p.m. June 10 and 24. Knitters of any skill level are welcome to work with us on our charity projects or work on their own. The club is sponsoring a yearlong Block-a-Month Knit-a-Long. Knitters of all ages and skill levels can join us and knit a series of blocks. Simple knitting will be taught as needed. Library Sprouts Garden Club: For children age 4-10. Learn where our food comes from, how it grows and more. Saturday mornings from June 12 through Aug. 28. Dress for work, and be ready to get dirty.

Anim and manga lovers: Attend the Anim /Manga Club at 1:30 p.m. June 26. Anyone is welcome. Students under 16 should bring a signed permission slip. Enjoy several episodes of an anim , and discuss new and interesting manga.

Summer Reading Program: Experience the magic of reading each week. The program runs for six weeks from June 16-July 28. Registration for the Book Club begins June 7 and runs until June 16. Pick up your make-a-splash book bag, which is filled with information about the program schedule and your logbook that will help you to keep track of the books you read or have read to you. For children up to age 12. The goal is to read more than 6,000 books this summer. Wednesdays: Kick off begins at 11 a.m. June 16 with stories, magic and fun.

Thursdays: “Crafts with Miss Heather” at 1 p.m. for ages 6-12. Registration is required for all of these programs.

ADULT PROGRAMS

Book Discussion Group: 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. This month’s title is “Water Ship Down” by Richard Adams. To join, contact Colleen Keller at ext. 22 or Norma Savany at ext. 11. Readers meet on the first Wednesday of every month except for July and August.

Make Waves: June 25-July 23. Youths can participate simply by filling out an entry form for each book that you read making you eligible for prize drawings every Friday for the mall and movie gift cards, as well as gift certificates to local businesses. For ages 12-18. First drawing for prizes is July 2, and the final drawing is July 23.

Water Your Mind: June 25-July 23. Prizes are given. You must be 18 to participate. Facilitators are Sarah Gilpin and Colleen Keller.
