The Firemen’s Association will have a Memorial Day breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. today at the Clark Street Station. Cost is $5; those under age 8 may eat free of charge.

Youngstown Warren Chapter 2015 of USA Dance will sponsor a Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer on June 20 in celebration of Father’s Day. The event will take place at the Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., and will begin at 5 p.m. with a class of basics for beginners followed by a free fox-trot lesson at 5:30 and open dancing to ballroom, Latin, swing and hustle from 6:15 to 9 p.m. Admission is free to all men. Admission for women is $5 for USA Dance members, $10 for nonmembers and $2.50 for students.

Prostate cancer strikes one in six men and is more common than breast cancer, but public awareness and demand for national investment in research and innovation lag far behind. The AdMe Tech Foundation has partnered with a wide network of dance organizations to facilitate expansion of the Dance for the Cure of Prostate Cancer campaign to transform patient-care for men.

Benefit dinner

A benefit dinner for Roger Frank will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. June 19 at Robertson Heating Supply, 2155 W. Main St. Frank is an employee at Robertson Heating Supply and is a cancer patient who is undergoing aggressive treatment. All proceeds will go toward Frank’s medical and living expenses. The menu will feature rigatoni, meatballs, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. There also will be a basket raffle. Tickets are $6 each plus two canned goods that also will go to Frank. The can be obtained by calling 330-821-9180. It is requested that tickets be purchased early in order to better plan for the event. Anyone who is able to donate is asked to call 330-829-9389, ext. 115, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Railroad open house

The Riverside Railroad Train Club, the Mahoning Valley’s large-scale garden railroad club, will have an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. June 12 and 13 at the Warren SCOPE Center, 220 W. Market St. Admission is $3 for adults and free to children 12 and under. For more information, call 330-399-8846.
