GARDEN CLUBS | This week's meetings announced


TUESDAY

Daphne will meet at 10 a.m. at the Birchfield House for a program by John Dunlap. Lunch will be at noon at Annabelle’s Restaurant. Sondra Delmont is the coordinator.

WEDNESDAY

Mahoning will have a potluck dinner at noon at the home of Joanne Lewis, 485 Viola St. Ext., Hubbard. The program on “Ethnic Display” will be by Frances Kupec, who also will serve as hostess with Joanne Lewis.

Men’s Garden Club of Youngstown will have a plant auction and casserole dinner at 6 p.m. at the community building in Boardman Township Park. Guests are welcome. For more information, contact Bob McGowan at 330-518-6397.

THURSDAY

Garden Forum will have a board meeting at 9:30 a.m.

Nature Lovers will meet a 1 p.m. for a program on “Railroad Tokens” by John Dunlap of Salem.

St. Charles will have a picnic at 6 p.m. in the St. Matthew and Mark rooms at the church.

Sweetbriar members will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the library to begin planting. Marge Bielawski and Wendy Homer are in charge. The hostess will be Shirley Megown.

SATURDAY

Johnny Appleseed will participate in Youngstown 2010 Streetscape planting.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY

Ikebana members will have an exhibit at Fellows Riverside Gardens. Each member is to take two exhibits for setup by 11 a.m. Saturday. A tea will follow. Public viewing will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit will be taken down at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Garden club events are published Sunday. The deadline is noon Thursday.
