Garaskys celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Garasky of Boardman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at home. They are planning to renew their wedding vows at a special Mass at 2 p.m. June 6 at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

Their family includes Gerald S. Garasky of Boardman; Thomas D. Garasky of Kirkwood-St. Louis, Mo.; Dr. Steven B. Garasky of Ames, Iowa; and five grandchildren.

The former Martha Uitto and Mr. Garasky were married May 13, 1950, in St. Cyril & Methodius Church in Warren. They are members of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.

Mrs. Garasky, a member of Harmony Lodge 465 and Friends of Boardman Library, retired in 1988 from the business office of the Mahoning County Welfare Department.

Mr. Garasky, an Army veteran who served in the South Pacific, retired in 1984 after 36 years as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service. He is also a member of Harmony Lodge 465 and the St. Dominic Seniors.
