Class B, top tourneys headed to Cene Park

The Memorial Day weekend symbolizes the start of the Youngstown Class B season.

The league will once again have 10 teams in two age brackets (18u and 16u).

The home of Class B since 1995 has been Cene Park.

Cene Park and the Class B League also will host several tournaments in the country, including the 18 and under CABA metal bat World Series for the third year in a row.

Also, the NABF regional in both age divisions, a Colt region for the third year in a row in the 16 and under division, and as always, the AABC Connie Mack state tournament.

The Little b will also participate in the 17 and under CABA World Series in Euclid for the first time.

Class B will also have a zone bid and two regional berths in Palomino.

For the first time, the league will host a Triple Crown regional tournament in both age divisions in which 64 teams will play in June. The top four teams that qualify from these tournaments will participate in the Triple Crown World Series.

The Class B League and the Cleveland Diamond League will partner on a series between the two leagues every year in which a championship trophy will be awarded to the winning league.

The Class B League will also start its own 14-and-under age bracket next year. It will feature affiliations in CABA, NABF, and AABC. In this endeavor, the Class B League will absorb the Youngstown Babe Ruth League.

The B league will again feature wood bat play this season which has proven to be a plus to add the number of professional and college scouts that attend games.
