Class B at a glance


Champs: Rondinelli Tuxedo is the defending Class B and Connie Mack state champions, as well as qualifying for the CABA World Series and NABF regional last year. They will feature Corey Angelo (Ohio State), Brett Basalone (Notre Dame), Youngstown State recruits Phil Lipari and Nick Manuppelli, Marietta recruits Jake Double and Aaron McGee, Wooster recruits Eddie Reese and Zack Stein, Walsh two sport recruit Kyle Vaclav and Mount Union recruit Mac Thurber. Other area standouts on the team include Mike Gatta (McDonald) and Adam Schrodek (Howland).

1080 Media: The squad will return another strong team. The roster includes West Virginia recruit Justin Summers, Ashland recruit Joe Aulizia, Ohio Dominican recruit Anthony Raschilla, Walsh two sport recruit, Matt Shelton, and other area standout players such as Jim Coates (JFK), Mike Floravit (Girard), Chris Morgan (Mathews), Danny Popio (Boardman), Jay Rowland (Harding), Nick Timko (Western Reserve) and Justin Vrabel (Canfield).

Astro Falcons: The team will be led by Marshall recruit Kolin Stanley, Westminster player Kyle Allen returns and Ron Sullivan (Canfield). Other area players for Astros will include Mooney players Ryan Gallagher and Mark Warchol, John Beatty (Mohawk), Doug Bennett (Shenango), Raul Pizzarro and Josh Gore, (Campbell) Gerrad Rohan (South Range), Ronny Bovo (Springfield), and Ryan Trimbur (Girard).

Wharmby Sports: The team will be led by Youngstown State recruit David Saluga, and Division I prospect from Fitch, Chris Miller. Other area players will include Dom Defelice, Jimmy Dobran, and John Price from Poland, Josh Saverko (Columbiana), Nick Balsley (Salem) and other Fitch standouts, Josh Foster and Anthony Savko.

OTN Performance: The team will feature a deep pitching staff led by Potomac State Junior College recruit Brent Messett, Division I prospect Zac Anderson, Geoff Sonner coming in from the Erie, Pa., area, along with area pitchers Joe Dilerto (Struthers), Niles standouts Jon Taylor and Mike Watson, Liberty pitchers Nate Fade and Joe Tamarkin, Lowellville ace Anthony Alfano. Mount Union recruit Cameron Christopher is also on the team, with Gary Revale (Sharon), Dante Lewis (Mooney) and Austin Lykins (Niles).

Dave Sugar: The team will feature Walsh recruit Nick Benson from Canfield and Bralen Cockrell, who is going to LaRoche. Sugar will also have a strong western Pennsylvania base featuring Mario Cleckley (Beaver Falls), Jordan Izzo and G.J. Senchak from New Castle, Andre Jones (Union), Jon Korpon (Hickory) and Benjamin Murray (Senaca Valley). Other area players will include Tom Marnejon (Crestview), Corey Pitzo (Springfield), and Tom Police from Campbell.

Roth Brothers: The team will have Nick Reinthaler, a Westminster recruit, and Canfield standouts Brock McGivern, Matt Harmon and Dan Calai. Other area players will include Alex Lopez (Campbell), Jack McDonald (South Range), Vince Falconi (Sharpsville) and Anthony O’Nesti (Boardman).

Youngstown Express: The squad will feature several players from Boardman, including Tyler Blangero, Mark Calautti, Dave DiBernardi, John Fithian, Joe Markovich, Carmen Tarantino and Jon Wilhusen. Other area players include Poland standouts David Bobby and Clay Cooper, Tim Calhoun (Canfield) and Dan Daugherty from Mooney.

Livi Steel: The team will feature one of the leading hitters in the WPIAL, Mike Natale. Area players will include Fitch standouts Tony Koch, Tyler Hartman and Ralph Testa, along with Austin Creer (United), Josh Davis (Howland), Tyler Callahan (Mooney), Alex Cuckovich (JFK), Pete Garthwraite (Ursuline), Steve Wilaj (Struthers) and Dante Delbane (Girard). On the mound, they will have Jon DeAmicis (South Range) and Josh Pryor (Lakeview).

Action Physical Therapy: The team will feature several players from a very strong Hubbard team. Some of those players will include Todd Gasior (Mount Union), Zac Palumbo (Lake Erie College) and Tim Schiraldi, a two-sport standout and all-conference performer. On the mound, Action will feature pitchers Mike Riffe from Sharpsville and Jordan Adkins from East Liverpool.
