GELSENKIRCHEN, Germany

Heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will have a significant size advantage when he defends his title tonight against Albert Sosnowski.

The WBC titleholder weighed 247 pounds on Friday, while Sosnowski weighed 224.

The fight at Veltins Arena will be the fifth for Klitschko (39-2, 37 KOs) since he returned from an injury that sidelined him most of four years. Only one of those fights has gone the distance, a shutout decision against Kevin Johnson in his last bout in December.

Sosnowski (45-2-1, 27 KOs) has a record that looks good on paper, but he’s never faced anyone near the caliber of Klitschko. Besides giving up more than 20 pounds, he also gives up 5 inches in height and 3 inches in reach.

Adamek-Grant

NEWARK, N.J.

Former cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek will fight Michael Grant on Aug. 21 at the Prudential Center in his fourth fight at heavyweight.

After beating Chris Arreola in a slugfest in his last outing, Adamek had hoped to get a title shot against David Haye or either of the Klitschko brothers, Wladimir or Vitali.

When those fell through, Adamek agreed to fight Grant, who has won his last eight fights.

Adamek (41-1, 27 KOs) is a popular draw in New Jersey because of the large Polish community.

It will be his second fight since joining up with trainers Roger Bloodworth and Ronnie Shields.
