Contest winners to be married at Civil War-style ceremony

The Civil War Camp at the Poland Village Green flower garden will be the setting at 4 p.m. June 26 for the wedding of Heather Franklin and Christopher Mulidore, both of Youngstown.

The couple were the winners of a recent contest sponsored by the Celebrate Poland Inc. board to be married during the event at an authentic Civil War-style wedding.

The couple will dress in Civil War-period attire and also will receive a prize package donated by area merchants.

The wedding is open to the public.

The bride-elect is a daughter of the Rev. Thomas Sr. and Evelyn Franklin of Youngstown. She has attended Civil War re-enactments and is a great-great-granddaughter of Pvt. Ackerman, a member of the 61st Ohio Volunteer Infantry Company D, who is buried at Poland Riverside Cemetery. She is a student at Youngstown State University, where she is pursuing a degree in gerontology/sociology, and is a manager at Wendy’s in Youngstown.

Mr. Mulidore, a son of Charles and Angelina Mulidore of Youngstown, holds a degree in information technology from YSU and is a crew member at Wendy’s in Youngstown.
