At a recent meeting of Angels of Easter Seals at Tippecanoe Country Club, 5870 Tippecanoe Road, Jean Bennett was installed as president for the 2010-2011 season.

Installed as her associate officers were: Carol O’Neill, vice president; Sharon Musilli, second vice president; Patty Ceglie, treasurer; Kathy Carroll secretary; Nancy Varley, corresponding secretary; and Phyllis Bacon, past president.

Bennett, a graduate of Carlow College in Pittsburgh, has been a resident of the greater Youngstown area for the past 44 years. Before retiring, she was a preschool director in Boardman and Youngstown.

Since joining Angels of Easter Seals, Bennett has served as recording secretary, has been a member of such committees as hospitality, yearbook, telephone and volunteer services, and also decorated the Magic of an Angels raffle trees for three years.

A member of St. Jude Church in Columbiana and a former United Way allocation committee volunteer, she lives in Columbiana with her husband, Bill. One of their sons lives in Indiana and the other in Oregon. The Bennetts have four grandchildren.

Angels raised about $150,000 this past year, and all the funds were donated to the Easter Seal Center to promote the welfare of children and adults with special needs in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties.

Upcoming fundraising activities will include the 24th annual Magic of an Angels Christmas Nov. 20 at Mr. Anthony’s and the Holiday Brunch and Sweet Shoppe Dec. 1 at Antone’s Banquet Center.
