Valley students excel in interactive multimedia


Students in the Interactive Multimedia Program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center received honors at the 11th annual Ben Franklin Awards and Scholarship Banquet and Student Gallery of Superb Printing event, hosted by the Northeast Ohio Craftsmen Club.

With 12 gold awards, eight silver, one bronze and a scholarship recipient, the school had its best showing to date.

Shelby Brenzovich of Austintown was awarded a $2,000 scholarship. She received the Silver Award for screen printing and magazine spread and the bronze award for photo restoration.

Kayli Corfman of Austintown won Best of Show and Gold Award for printed invite and received the Gold Award for screen printing and the Silver Award for poster design.

Ragyn Ware of Austintown received the Gold Award for multicolor stationary and the Silver Award for illustration art and stationary.

Samantha Brooks of South Range won the Gold Award for illustration and line art.

Melanie Arnold of Canfield received the Gold Award for package design. Valerie Hood of Boardman won the Silver Award for package design. John Ray of Austintown received the Gold Award for 3D point of purchase design.

Rayanna Rivera of Campbell won the Gold Award for color stationary. Kalisha Green of Campbell received the Silver Award for line art. Ashley Vaughan of Boardman earned the Gold Award for magazine spread.

Andrew Bastion of Struthers won the Silver Award for four-color process printed invitation. Madison McLemore of Poland received the Gold Award for illustration art.

Dee Snyder of Western Reserve earned the Gold Award for three-color process printing. Veronica Heck of Struthers won the Gold Award for line art.
