Opportunities for young athletes at camp

Canfield High School will hold its annual football camp June 15-18 for students entering fourth through ninth grades.

The camp will take place form 9 a.m. to noon at the Canfield Cardinal Stadium at the cost is $50 per athlete.

During this four-day camp, the athletes will use the football facilities, the weight room and interact with the Canfield football coaching staff.

Make checks payable to Canfield Football Camps. Stop in the athletic office to pick up a camp application or come the day of the camp.

Brode breaks district, stadium records

Canfield’s Dustin Brode added a district title and broke two more shot put records Saturday at the Division I district track meet at Fitch Stadium.

Brode’s shot throw of 69 feet, 2 inches broke the district record, and the oldest stadium record remaining. The former record was set in 1972.

Lanai Lounge shuts out Nicolinni in hockey action

The Ice Zone’s spring men’s hockey teams hit the ice May 17.

Games results included Lanai Lounge getting a 6-0 win over Nicolinni, Giant Eagle beating Wade Robinson 9-3 and Lannigan’s Irish Pub defeating Gold Team 4-2. The league’s games are 7 p.m. every Monday at the Ice Zone.
