Fitch High School held its 33rd annual PTA Scholastic Banquet May 17 at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Banquet Center.

Originated in 1977, the banquet is intended to honor high school students who achieve a GPA of 3.5 or higher throughout their high school career.

School Principal Douglas McGlynn rewarded 76 students with certificates and medals acknowledging them for their achievements. In addition to the awards, a short biography of each student was read, including their goals and plans for the future.

PTA President Diane Eyster, chairwoman Anne Pauline, along with the school guidance department, orchestrated the event. Parents and grandparents were invited to the event as well as the board of education and school faculty members.
