The Youngstown Playhouse Youth Theater will have a series of classes June 21-25 for students in grades 1 through 12. The fee is $65 per student, and enrollment is limited. For more information or to register, call the box office at 330-788-8739. Here are the classes:

“The What If Story Trunk” (grades 1-3; 10-11 a.m.): Different costume pieces, props, musical instruments and other objects will be found in a trunk each day, and students will use them for inspiration to create and act out stories. Taught by Monica Beasley-Martin.

“Off to Oz!” (grades 1-3; 11 a.m. to noon): Basic acting skills and characterization will be introduced by traveling the Yellow Brick Road with Dorothy and her friends, and creating new characters who will have adventures in the Emerald City. Taught by Monica Beasley-Martin.

“Superheroes and Superheroines — Iron Man and the Avengers!” (grades 4-6; 10-11 a.m.): Students will create their own superhero characters and then plot and perform a tale about fighting a foe. Taught by Candace DiLullo.

“ICarly, YouTube ... and YOU!” (grades 4-6; 11 a.m. to noon): Students will work as a group to script, design and perform their own website show, which will then be posted on YouTube. Taught by Candace DiLullo.

“Acting 101” (grades 7-12; 10-11 a.m.): Class work covers auditioning, improvisation, characterization and monologues. Taught by John Pecano.

“Advanced Acting” (grades 7-12; 11 a.m. to noon): Students will work on script analysis, duet acting and scene study as they explore the process of producing a stage play. This class will also be introduced to the important roles of lighting and sound design in a theatrical production. Taught by John Pecano.
