State fires head of an Ohio juvenile prison

COLUMBUS (AP) — The state has fired the head of an Ohio juvenile prison over allegations he sexually harassed and inappropriately touched female staff members.

The Department of Youth Services said in a report today that Thomas Teague, superintendent of the agency’s Circleville facility, was dismissed Wednesday.

An agency investigation found evidence Teague touched, grabbed, kissed and hugged several female staffers at different times.

The investigation also found he made sexually inappropriate comments to women about their looks and often boasted he was a stripper in college.

Investigators say the 41-year-old Teague acknowledged making comments about clothes and looks but denied the harassment charges.

A message was left at Teague’s home seeking comment.
