Pupils celebrate Right to Read Week

The weather may not have been balmy, but pupils at Struthers Elementary School braved the elements the week of May 10 as they celebrated Right to Read Week with a beach theme. Children in kindergarten through fourth grade participated in several literacy activities and joined in the beach theme by wearing beach hats, visors, sunglasses and T-shirts that could be read and lying on beach towels to enjoy reading some of their favorite books. Each class also enjoyed a guest reader from the community as well as “mystery readers” from Struthers Middle School.
