Events offer variety for July 9-11 weekend

YOUNGSTOWN

The July 9-11 weekend is shaping up to be very busy, filled with a variety of entertainment events, including:

The Youngstown Jazz Festival on July 10. The event, on Central Square in downtown, will include performances by Grammy Award- winner David Benoit and Grammy-nominated band Spyro Gyra.

The Youngstown State University Festival of Arts, July 10 and 11.

The St. Nicholas Greek Fest at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church on North Walnut Street, July 8 to 11.

Tour of the Valley bicycle races, July 9 to 11, including a downtown Youngstown race on the last day of the event.

“Our goal is to offer great quality and a variety of activities, and to showcase the vitality and spirit of the region as it continues to climb in prominence,” said Phil Moore, executive director of the Mahoning County Convention & Visitors Bureau.

“We want to continue to make this a weekend that is highly anticipated every year — one for residents to invite family and friends to come visit.”
