Access to Recovery Grant

The ATR federal grant awarded $13.9 million to Mahoning, Summit, Stark and Cuyahoga counties to provide adult clients with a wide range of addiction treatment and recovery support services, such as temporary housing, healthcare/childcare services, transportation services and life-skills training. Clients must:

Be 18 years or older.

Be a resident of one of the four counties listed.

Have a professional diagnosis for a drug or alcohol addiction.

Be living on a family income that is below 200 percent of the poverty level.

Be someone who was previously incarcerated.

Recovery statistics after six months:

85 percent of clients are drug and/or alcohol free.

96 percent of clients aren’t arrested or reincarcerated.

41 percent of clients are employed or attending school.

34 percent of clients have a permanent residence.
