WARREN

The Warren Board of Education has awarded a contract of $1,063,586 to C. Tucker Cope and Associates of Columbiana to demolish the former Warren Western Reserve High School and five other school buildings no longer needed as the district completes construction of its five new school buildings.

In addition to Reserve, the contract calls for demolition of the Alden, Devon, Secrest, Emerson and Horace Mann buildings.

Construction on the last two of the five new buildings is expected to wrap up in the next couple of months.

Aaron Schwab, the school district’s communications director, said there is no specific time frame for the demolitions to be complete, but he expects them to be done by late summer or fall.
