Station to re-air lost ‘Lost’ episode

CLEVELAND

Cleveland’s ABC station is promising to re-run the final episode of “Lost” because of technical problems that ruined the big night for fans.

WEWS-TV says it had trouble Sunday with hardware that allows viewers to receive the station’s ABC programming on digital cable systems in Northeast Ohio. So, some fans looking for answers to their questions about the show’s mysterious island and its castaways were instead left with a blank screen at times.

Others complained on the station’s website that their picture was practically unwatchable and the sound was distorted.

WEWS general manager Sam Rosenwasser offered a “heartfelt apology” Monday and said the station would run the show again Saturday night, if not earlier. He also says the technical glitch is being fixed.

Paula Abdul gets dance-show role

NEW YORK

As Simon Cowell leaves the reality-show judge’s chair, his old foil, Paula Abdul, is coming back. CBS said Monday that Abdul will be a judge on “Got to Dance,” a competition expected to make it on the air sometime next season. She’ll also be an executive producer for the series, which is based on a successful competition that airs in Britain.

Cowell is leaving “American Idol” after this season, concentrating on another show he’ll import from England. He had a love-hate relationship with Abdul, who left Fox’s top-rated game before the current season when she couldn’t reach a deal on a new contract. She’s been fielding other offers since then. There’s no immediate word on when “Got to Dance,” which will feature various forms of dancing, will go on the air.
