SENIOR CITIZENS | Meetings, activities announced


Commercial Intertech Retirees will meet at noon Tuesday at the fellowship hall of St. Mark Church on Logan Way, Youngstown, with Lou Pizzuto presiding. Reports will be given by Gloria Wielbruda and Roberta Shick. Hostesses will be Stella Tsvetanoff and Carmela Felde. Illnesses should be reported to Connie DiPiero.

Erie-Mahoning Valley Railroad Association will meet at noon Tuesday at Belleria Pizzeria, 3460 S. Meridian Road, Cornersburg. Reports will be given, and birthdays will be recognized. All railroad retirees and their spouses are welcome.

Girard Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the center. May birthdays and anniversaries will be observed, and the Rev. Betsy Schenk will conduct a memorial service for deceased members.

Liberty Friends will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Liberty Presbyterian Church, 1351 Churchill-Hubbard Road, for fellowship, cards and games. Members are to take a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided. Guests are welcome.

Martha Lupse 50-Plus Card and Game Club will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 106 at Poland United Methodist Church. Bridge, 500, chess and checkers will be played, and Bob Ferrara will give the devotions. There will be a pizza party at noon. No affiliation with the church is required for participation. P.E.R.I, Mahoning Chapter 18, will meet at noon June 1 at the Italian-American Veterans Centre on Meridian Road, Youngstown, for a buffet dinner of salad, pasta with meatballs, breaded baked chicken, mixed vegetables, beverage and banana cake. The speaker with be U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan.

Retired Nurses will have an annual catered luncheon at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4560 Canfield Road, Canfield. Members are reminded to take articles (no clothing) for battered women. The books will be audited. The next meeting will be in September.

S.E.R.O. Chapter 19 will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at Austin Manor Restaurant, 3104 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown. The speaker will be a deputy sheriff from Mahoning County. All classified school employees are invited.

St. Christine Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the parish center with Ruth Infante presiding. Reports will be by Mary Jo Theis and Carol McClain. The lunch committee will be Ann Smith, Nancy Olsavsky, John Zitello and Frances Tomaskovich. There will be attendance prizes, a 50-50 raffle, cards and bingo. New members welcome.

Sts. Peter and Paul Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ukrainian Center. Ann Smith will preside, and Pat Hoffman and Laura Dulay will give reports. Lunch will be served by Clara Seffner, June Kausitis, Mary Goncy and Irene Brown. New members are welcome.
