OVI Task Force makes 40 arrests at Boardman checkpoint

The Mahoning County Operating a Vehicle Impaired Task Force conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Market Street near Overhill Road in Boardman between 10 p.m. Saturday and 2 a.m. today. The task force made 40 arrests and seized 10 vehicles. The results:

Number of OVI arrests (over the age of 21): 6.

Average Blood Alcohol Count: 0.136.

Driving Under Suspension arrests: 6.

No Operators license citations: 4.

Other miscellaneous citations: 14.

Vehicles seized: 10.

Misdemeanor arrests (failure to appear warrant, failure to comply, drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, underage possession of alcohol, 2 open container, and drug abuse/marijuana): 8.

Felony Arrests (one for felony possession of crack cocaine and one for burglary): 2.
