BOARDMAN

Dan Popio hit a three-run, walk-off homer to lead Boardman. With one out, the Spartans (9-17, 3-10 Federal League) got two men on base. Popio then ended it with one swing. The Blue Streaks (14-9, 5-6) led 3-2 after six.

Canton McKinley 1, Fitch 0

CANTON

McKinley senior Cameron Palmer (5-4), a University of Toledo recruit, pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts. Palmer also scored the game’s only run in the fourth inning. Tyler Hartman (2-5) tossed a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and one walk for Fitch (10-18, 4-10 FL).

Louisville 9, West Branch 4

LOUISVILLE

Louisville scored eight times in the first three innings against the Warriors (19-10, 6-7 Northeastern Buckeye Conference). Mickey Manser had a single and a double for the Warriors.

Western Reserve 9, Mapleton 5

AKRON

Nick Timko was the winning pitcher and had three hits for Reserve in a Division IV district semifinal game on Thursday. Chris Kalbfell added a double and single for the Blue Devils, who played Rittman in the championship game on Friday night. Adam Smith added a pair of singles for Reserve (17-8).

BOARDMAN

Julie Sokol pitched a one-hitter with 12 strikeouts for Boardman. Danielle Petrus had two hits for the Spartans, while Jamie Massaro, Alex DiDomenico and Bethany Haddle all had doubles.

Boardman 3, Jackson 0

BOARDMAN

DiDomenico pitched a no-hitter and had 13 strikeouts for Boardman (18-6). Brooke Meenachan was 3 for 4 with a home run and double, and Petrus doubled and singled.

Southeast 8, Ravenna 0

RAVENNA

Kayla Williams (16-4) and Emily Gahagan combined on a one-hitter for the Pirates (20-4, 10-3 Portage Trail Conference).
