Date is chosen for Sworthwood, Banfield rite

Plans for the summer marriage of Jaime Sworthwood and Mark Banfield, both of Concord, N.C., are announced by their parents, James and Carla Sworthwood of Durand, Mich., and Shirley Banfield of Austintown and C. Larry Banfield of Poland.

July 31 has been chosen by the couple for their 3 p.m. wedding at Durand United Methodist Church and their evening reception at ZCBJ Banquet Center in Owosso, Mich. Invitations will be issued for both.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in English/education. She is employed by Gaston County Schools in North Carolina as an English teacher at Bessemer City High School.

The future groom is employed by Cabarrus County Schools in Concord as a lead geometry teacher at Cox Mill High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/mathematics from Youngstown State University.
