Nick Jonas loves changes in show

NEW YORK

The Jonas Brothers’ TV show is undergoing a makeover — to the delight of Nick Jonas. The Disney show is changing its name from “Jonas” to “Jonas LA” and in it, the boys have moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams — just as they did in real life. The youngest sibling in the pop trio says the changes are “amazing.”

“It’s such an improvement from last season. We’re so happy with the new direction,” the 17-year-old said in a recent interview. “... We feel very happy with it, and we’re very proud of it.” “Jonas LA” makes its season debut June 20.

Lindsay Lohan makes bail after her arrest

Los angeles

Lindsay Lohan already has made bail, hours after a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Los Angeles Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini says a bond was posted for the 23-year-old actress Thursday after a judge issued an arrest warrant for Lohan earlier in the day. Bail was set at $100,000.

Superior Court Judge Marsha Revel issued the warrant Thursday after Lohan missed a mandatory court hearing.

Lohan’s attorney told the court that Lohan’s passport was stolen while she was at the Cannes Film Festival so she was unable to return to Los Angeles in time for Thursday’s hearing.

Attorney Shawn Chapman Holley says Lohan will be back in the United States today. Holley did not immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages Thursday.

Suge Knight faces assault charge

LOS ANGELES

Ex-rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight was arrested Thursday after he reportedly pointed a gun at a man and then drove off in his Cadillac, police said. Knight, 45, was stopped by California Highway Patrol officers in suburban Gardena at about 12:30 a.m. and immediately surrendered to Los Angeles police who swarmed around his white Escalade, according to police and news videos.

The brawny, bald, bearded Knight was handcuffed.

Knight’s car was stopped after someone called authorities to report that Knight had pointed a gun at him. Knight was booked for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon — a gun — and also on a misdemeanor warrant alleging that he drove with a suspended license, said a police spokesperson. He was being held on $65,000 bail, she said.

Elvis Costello drops concerts in Israel

JERUSALEM

British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello is canceling two summer concerts in Israel because of its treatment of the Palestinians, disappointing fans in a country enjoying an upswing in visits by renowned artists. In an announcement on his website explaining his decision, Costello spoke of “intimidation, humiliation or much worse” inflicted by Israel on the Palestinians and said sometimes “merely having your name added to a concert schedule may be interpreted as a political act.”
