Holy Family harvests for hunger

The students collected 1,003 food items through March and April.

Forty-two third-grade students from Holy Family School participated in the “Friendly Competition Food Drive” during March and April and collected 1,003 food items for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Youngstown.

On Apr. 23, the Acts of Random Kindness (ARK) group delivered the food on behalf of the third-grade class and received a tour of the food bank by Director of Development Rebecca Martinez.

Martinez told the group that their school collected 883 pounds of food and that the food bank gives out approximately 35,000 pounds of food each day to hunger relief organizations.
