Defenders, strikers and goalkeepers can hone their skills this June. The Boardman Soccer Association fall league is open for registration and will host a Creative Skills Camp June 14 to 18 at the Boardman Soccer Association fields.

“The camp will focus on the individual rather than the team,” said association president Bob Bryant. Players were able to take a sneak peek of the camp at the soccer association’s open house Apr. 25. Foot skills, a 1-on-1 dribbling game and loud music were part the excitement.

The camp’s cost is $150 and each participant will receive skill development coaching from the best street soccer coaches from Europe, a personal development handbook, a street soccer denim ball, a camp T-shirt and a DVD teaching freestyle moves from top UK freestylers.

Children 7 to 11 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon and children 12 and up will meet 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Interested players can register for the camp or league team play at www.boardmansoccer.com. Competitive team tryout dates are June 13, 19 and 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Boardman Soccer Association fields.

The association holds monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at Bethel Lutheran Church on Crestview Drive.
