Specter trailng slightly in U.S. Senate race


WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) — Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Arlen Specter has fallen behind in a struggle for political survival in the U.S. Senate.

The five-term incumbent offered experience to voters clamoring for change.

With 3,659 of 9,233, — 40 percent — of the precincts reporting by 9:51 p.m., Specter's tallies were 178,292 or 49 percent, to Joe Sestak's 186,384, or 51 percent.
