Medical Society Alliance installs slate of officers

Cassi Calderon was installed as president of Mahoning County Medical Society Alliance during an induction ceremony that took place following a luncheon May 6 at Rosetta Stone Caf .

Installed as her associate officers were Donna Hayat, president-elect; Tammy Engle, treasurer; and Shelly Barton, recording secretary.

Calderon graduated from Campbell University School of Pharmacy in North Carolina with a doctorate in pharmacy and completed a residency in pharmacy practice at the University of Maryland Medical System in Baltimore. A board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist, she is a clinical pharmacist at Select Specialty Hospital.

An active member of the alliance since 2005, Calderon has served on many committees, including the new member luncheon and the annual charity fashion show, which raised $10,000 this year for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley Garden of Hope. She also is a member of Dobbins Elementary PTO.

Calderon and her husband, Dr. Javier Calderon, and their children, Diego and Gabriella, live in Poland.
