OSU announces tuition increases

COLUMBUS — Ohio State University students will pay 7 percent higher tuition this fall after the board of trustees approved an increase Friday.

The hike comes in two phases, 3.5 percent for summer quarter and 3.5 percent in the fall, and marks the end of a three-year freeze of costs. After both increases tuition will be $8,994 a year.

The increases also impact students at the schools regional campuses. The university had held off on tuition hikes to aid students during the financial crisis, university officials said in a news release today.
