Hovis birthday is celebrated at reception

Beryl Deane Hovis who was born Feb. 16, 1920, in Eau Clair, Pa., a daughter of John and Lottie Montgomery, was honored as she celebrated her 90th birthday during an open reception at her home in Lake Milton.

She married Paul Hovis on Feb.21, 1938, and they had seven children, Larry, Becky, Marion, LaRee, Peggy, Tim and Bob. She has 23 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren

She is a member and one of the founders of Lake Milton Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and lead the women’s group for many years. An artist, she always had a passion for the arts and crafts, and even taught herself carpentry and built her own kitchen cabinets.
