Beachum re-elected
Lock P. Beachum Sr., a member and vice president of the Youngstown Board of Education, has been re-elected to a one-year term as chairman of the national Council of Urban Boards of Education.
Beachum has served as chairman of the council since April 2009 and is an ex-officio voting member of the National School Boards Association’s board of directors.
He’s served on the Youngstown board for 13 years and has had various positions including president, liaison to the city of Youngstown and chairman of various committees including finance, legislative and curriculum. He also is a retired city school administrator.
The council is the only national membership organization governed solely by urban school board members and dedicated to the needs and interests of urban school boards.
