Eddie and The Edsels, a ’50s and ’60s musical group, will headline a July 29 show at The Georgetown, 5945 South Ave., with opening act comedian Rik Roberts.

The evening, promoted by Tony Trolio’s Ciao Promotions, will begins with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7:30. Master of ceremonies will be Joe Naples.

Tickets are $39.95 per person and include dinner ($36 for seniors and groups). They can be purchased at Trolio’s in Poland or by calling (330) 757-2779.

Eddie and The Edsels were a success in the Cleveland area in the ’60s. In the early ’70s, the Edsels changed their name to The Rapid Transit and became the house band on “The Upbeat Show,” a nationally syndicated television show out of Cleveland.

During this time, they backed stars such as James Darrin, Anne Murray, Don Mclean, Bobby Sherman, Curtis Mayfield, B.B. King, Sly & the Family Stone, The Doors, Neil Sedaka, The McCoys, Kenny Rogers and Freddy Canon.

The band members are Bill Morris (guitar, and vocals), Dan Morris (keyboards, bass and vocals), Tristan Morris (drums, guitar, vocals) and Nancy Sias (vocals and saxophone).

Eddie and The Edsels have released several albums. They perform a Vegas-style show.

Comedian Roberts is a Kentucky native and a graduate of Bethany College in West Virginia.

He has performed at comedy clubs throughout the Midwest.
