Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, 67 McClure St., will celebrate its annual Unity Day on Sunday.
The theme is “Unity in the Body of Christ.” The celebration will begin with praise and worship during services at 10:50 a.m. and continue at 3:30 p.m.
Pastor Lamont Miles of Metropolitan Baptist Church will be the afternoon speaker.

Gospel hymn sing

A gospel hymn sing-along is planned May 22 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2088 Tibbetts-Wick Road. Fellowship will begin at 6:30 p.m., and the music is at 7.
New series
Villa maria, pa.
Villa Maria Education and Spirituality Center will begin a new series called Lectio, Lunch and Labyrinth from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 3 at Villa Maria Community Center in Villa Maria, Pa.
Participants will gather for the sacred tradition of Lectio Divina, followed by luncheon and fellowship and ending with a contemplative walk on the labyrinth.
This series will be led by Cathy Cawley, adult/family program director at Villa Maria. She is a pastoral counselor and veteran retreat director.
Before her current position, she was the director of Shalom Retreat House in Richmond, Va., for 16 years.
Cawley is the author of “A Rainy Afternoon with God.”

Women’s conference

The Greater Mahoning Valley District Church of God in Christ women’s department will have its annual women’s conference Thursday and Friday at Bethel Church of God in Christ, 3147 Glenwood Ave., with services at 7 p.m. both days.
The theme is “A Committee Life.” Auxiliary night will be observed Thursday when Sheila Johnson of Bethel COGIC will speak.
On Friday, official night, featured speaker will be Canary Howard, district missionary.
Host pastor is Ross Johnson, Mahoning Valley District superintendent.
Program for spiritual directors

Villa Maria Spirituality and Education Center will offer a spiritual director’s professional program June 7 and 8 at Villa Maria Community Center.
The event will have participants employ case studies that have tested their faith and will examine their own lived faith and its effect on their practice of spiritual direction.
The program will be led by the Rev. William Barry, co-director of a nine-month Jesuit Tertianship Program at Campion Center who conducts retreats and spiritual direction.
He is the author or co-author of 15 books, including “The Practice of Spiritual Direction,” “God and You” and “Contemplatives in Action” with the Rev. Robert Doherty.
Cost is $110 and includes lodging and meals. A commuter rate of $55 a day, which includes lunch, also is available.

The adult choir of First Calvary Baptist Church, 126 E. Wood St., will present a tribute to gospel music at 5 p.m. May 22.
Featured guests will be community choirs, mime groups, male choruses, soloists and poets.

Church choir to mark anniversary

Phillips Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, 1407 Victor Ave., will mark the anniversary of its gospel choir with a musical event at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The church will conduct a revival at 7 p.m. May 26-28. Guest speakers will be Pastor Larry Scott of Valley Missionary Baptist Church, May 26; Pastor George Wilkins of Mount Sinai Baptist Church, May 27; and Pastor Frank Hearns of Second Baptist Church, May 28.
Yoga meditation to be offered

Now Creations will offer a weekly session of yoga, meditation and study program from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesdays at St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 7782 Glenwood Ave.
A donation of $10 is appreciated but not required.
Sessions will be May through mid-August. There will be yoga exercises, 10 minutes of meditation and study based on “Tao Te Ching,” the sacred book of Taoism.
