Little Falcon Sign-up

Austintown Little Falcons is looking for new members for football and cheerleading.

Sign-up is May 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gazebo in Austintown Park and June 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Austintown’s Touwnship Hall.

Local runners needed

The 20th annual Memorial Mile road race will be May 31 at 9:35 a.m. in Boardman.

Some of the best runners in the Midwest will compete for $600 in gift certificates and awards in 14 age groups. The fee for ages 15 and older is $8 in advance and $10 the day of race. Runners 14 and under are free with pre-registration.

The race starts at Routes 224 and 7. It’s sponsored by the Jock Stop. For information call 330-726-8407 or visit www.jockstop.com.

Hockey competition

The men’s hockey league competed at the Ice Zone in Boardman May 3. Giant Eagle beat the Gold Team 12-3. Lanai Lounge defeated Lannigans Irish Pub 5-1. Nicolinni’s bested Wade’s with a score of 5-2.

The league plays every Monday night at 7 p.m. at the Ice Zone.

Golf camp

Link up to golf with a three-day golf camp Tuesday, Thursday and May 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Par 3 Golf Course at Mill Creek MetroParks.

This camp is designed for the true beginner. Lessons will focus on putting, short game, and full swing. The cost is $35. Call 330-740-7112 to register.

Golf outing benefits Little Falcons

Austintown Little Falcons Golf Outing is May 30 at 8 a.m. with registration from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. at the Olde Dutch Mill Golf Course on Granview Road in Lake Milton. The outing includes golf, beverages, golf cart, breakfast, lunch and dinner. There will be a 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction, and hole-in-one prizes.

Sign up for soccer camp

The fourth annual Fitch Falcon Soccer Camp will run from June 21 to June 25 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Fitch High School.

The camp is open to boys entering third to eighth grade and will focus on soccer skills and team building. Participants will become proficient defenders, attackers and midfielders.

The cost for the camp is $50 and players will receive a drawstring bag with the Fitch soccer logo and a 2010 Fitch Falcon Soccer Camp T-shirt, A pizza party on the last day, free admission to a home game and prizes will be available. Some of the games are World Cup, 3-on-3 tournament, Knockout and a PK Shootout.
