Glenwood students share voices, art with parents

Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .The seventh and eighth-grade chorus performed a musical selection featuring classic songs of the 1950s at Glenwood Middle School's Spring Sing and Art Show May 6. The chorus performed to several arrangements throughout the concert.

The bleachers of Glenwood Middle School were filled to capacity as parents, family members and friends awaited the start of the school’s annual spring concert.

BGMS held it’s Spring Sing and Art Show May 6 in the school gymnasium. The school’s hallways were filled with artwork from the students for family members to admire while waiting in line to enter the gymnasium.

The concert consisted of the fifth through eighth-grade choruses. The theme for the concert’s musical selections was “Classics to Hoe Downs and the 1950s.”

The combined fifth and sixth-grade chorus sang four selections. The eighth-grade chorus sang one musical selection and the combined seventh and eighth-grade chorus performed seven songs.

Some of the songs involved dance routines where students performed the chicken dance, swing dance and other choreographed moves.
