Canfield bands set for spring concerts

The Canfield Middle School bands have been busy preparing for their upcoming spring concerts.
The fifth and sixth-grade bands will perform Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The 98-member fifth-grade band will perform a medley of “Tisket-A-Tasket, Twinkle,” “Twinkle, Erie Canal,” and “Polly Wolly Doodle.” They will continue with two full band arrangements of “Aura Lee” and “Skip To My Lou.”
The 96-member sixth-grade band will perform “Forward March,” “Largo from The New World Symphony,” “Geology: The Study of Rock,” “The Legend of Castle Armagh,” and finish with a take-off of the “Saturday Night Live” skit, “More Cowbell.”
The seventh and eighth-grade concert and symphonic bands will perform Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
Guest artists will include the brass quintet from the Wright-Patterson Air Force Band stationed in Dayton. Wright Brass is one of four classical chamber ensembles within the United States Air Force Band of Flight.
The Canfield High School bands will present their the final concert of the year Thursday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Their annual spring concert will feature guest brass quintet the USAF “Band of Flight” Wright Brass as well senior soloists David Gabrieli, flute; John Vagas, violin; and Peter Zelinka, clarinet.
All concerts are free. Donations will be accepted.
