The South Range Ruri-Teen Club will have a fund-raising carwash from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Beaver Township Fire Department. Donations will be accepted.
Escape charges
YOUNGSTOWN
A city woman is facing charges of escape and disorderly conduct after causing a scene and being transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center still wearing a wrist band from the county jail.
According to police, Leslie Hood, 44, of Paxton Road was detained by security at city hall after she caused a scene in the building at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Police found her to be incoherent and combative and transported her to St. Elizabeth’s, where medical personnel noticed the county jail wrist band on her arm.
Hood is believed to have walked away from custody after appearing in court.
Hood is being detained at the hospital for police.
Religion and diet

The public is invited to a cultural and spiritual diversity program at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Park Vista Retirement Community, 1216 Fifth Ave.
The Rev. Oran Telford, staff chaplain at Northside Medical Center and president and chief executive officer of the Youngstown Organization of Protestant Men, will be the guest speaker. He will discuss how religion and culture form beliefs about diet, healing practices, and issues surrounding life and death.

Parkwood reunion

Former and current residents of the Parkwood neighborhood are invited to share family stories and recipes during a get- together from 6 to 8 p.m. May 25 at Kuzman’s Bar, 1025 S. State St.
Author C.B. O’Connor will share her work in progress with the group and accept new material for her book, “Parkwood Days: A Memoir With Recipes.” Light refreshments will be served.
Traffic enforcement
BROOKFIELD
The Brookfield Township Police Department will conduct high-visibility traffic enforcement weekly through September.
Officers will target traffic- related problems such as speed, restraint use and impaired driving.
The patrols are paid for by federal funding awarded to the Brookfield Township Police Department by the Ohio Traffic Safety office.
No drugs in sweep

A routine drug sweep at Poland Seminary High School found no narcotics, said Brian Goodin, township police chief.
The Tuesday effort included township police and seven police dogs from various departments. They checked school lockers to determine if any contained drugs and found none, the chief said.
