Saturday: The Hartford native finished just 35 laps before stopping with a transmission problem at Saturday’s Showtime Southern 500. He finished 42nd.

Season to date: Blaney fell one spot to 41st place in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings with 382 points, 17 behind David Stremme.

Next weekend: NASCAR’s top series heads to Dover, Del., for the Autism Speaks 400. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. on FOX.
